“Every Shot Counts” When It Comes to COVID-19

Dear leaders of Ohio’s Residential Facility Class 2’s,

In light of the latest increase in COVID-19 cases and new variants of the virus, as well as the increased risk of flu and RSV in the fall and winter months, the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) and Ohio Department of Health (ODH) are asking for your help to reduce the risk to the older adults and other Ohioans who utilize your facilities.

Under the leadership of Governor Mike DeWine, ODA and ODH are reactivating the “Every Shot Counts” campaign. The campaign provides accurate information about COVID-19, flu, and RSV – explaining the importance of all Ohioans getting vaccinated, while also encouraging congregate care facilities to follow best practices to reduce the spread of these viruses.

As part of the renewal of this campaign, we have designed two posters: one targeted to Ohioans who utilize your facilities, and a second targeted to facility leaders and administrators. All congregate/long-term care settings in Ohio are now able to request full-size copies of each poster, which will be mailed to you at no charge.

Posters can be ordered at: Aging.Ohio.gov/VaccinePoster

We hope you will display these posters at a location in your facility where people will benefit from the posters’ messages.

Alternatively, facilities also have the option to download full-color 8.5” x 11” (standard letter size) versions of the poster to print and distribute on their own.
• Every Shot Counts! – For Individuals
• Every Shot Counts! – For Facilities/Administrators

We would like to thank you for all you have done to keep Ohioans safe throughout the pandemic, and we hope you will partner with us again to help inform the older adults and others who utilize your facilities about ways they can enhance their protection. For facilities in need of assistance or guidance with services such as staffing support or infection prevention and control education, contact Ohio’s Regional Rapid Response Assistance Program (R3AP) at Aging.Ohio.gov/R3AP.

Sincerely,
