View WebsiteEPIC House is a non-profit home offering a unique shared living experience to elderly, low-income adults in the Greater Cincinnati area. Opened in 1989, EPIC was the result of a vision to provide shared housing for older adults who had no family to care for them. EPIC provides a solution to an often overlooked problem–that of residents who are placed prematurely in nursing homes. Today, EPIC is a thriving and active home for elderly adults. Residents enjoy a comfortable atmosphere and benefit from planned activities and friendly visitors to the house. EPIC is committed to providing a safe, warm, and loving home where residents can live with the dignity they deserve. Residents maintain their independence and are cared for with respect and compassion by a 24-hour staff whose primary focus is the well-being of the residents. They are provided a comfortable homelike environment where they celebrate birthdays, holidays, and other special events. EPIC provides private bedrooms, each with its own bath. An active volunteer base offers regular friendship and support. EPIC residents include men and women who come from diverse backgrounds. Ranging in age from 60-84, they form deep and lasting bonds with staff, volunteers, and each other. EPIC House is located in Cincinnati’s diverse west end, which contains a notable collection of historic properties. The home now known as EPIC was built in the 1850’s. It has been renovated through the years, and provides residents a cozy setting in a large, conveniently situated and comfortable home.
